Work at Alpine Township was temporarily suspended as employees joined  Residential Assessor Julie Burelski in celebrating a recent achievement. Comstock Park Community Outreach

Once a month, a group of concerned  leaders from the Alpine Township/Comstock Park area meet to discuss issues and solutions to some of the social issues facing our community.  The group currently consists of about 30 members representing various faith communities, Comstock Park Schools, Alpine Township, Kent District Library, Arbor Circle, Wedgewood Christian Services, YMCA, York Creek Apartments, the Comstock Park Rotary, and other organizations and businesses.  The group was started by Dan Clark, Clark Nurseries who saw this as an opportunity to reach out to the community  READ MORE

Comstock Park neighborhood hosts Haunted Westgate

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WZZM)- Halloween is just under three weeks away and one West Michigan neighborhood is well decorated for the occasion.  Several homeowners in the Westgate neighborhood in Comstock Park are displaying elaborate Halloween exhibits on their homes and in their yards.  On some nights hundreds of visitors drive by to take it all in.

Mike Wysopal of Comstock Park says, "We had a lady actually drive from Jenison to come see the display.  Her kid pretty much had a fit until she brought him out here.  It's pretty cool.  It's nice.  The kids love it.  We have a bunch of people over all the time."

Autumn Colors

In addition to the beautiful weather, it is time to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery and you don't have to go far from home.  For instance, you can stop by the Alpine Township Sonic Drive In, find a good parking spot, and almost see the fall colors change in front of your eyes.  Or drive a mile down the road to the Brechting Farm on Six Mile, just West of Alpine, and add some orange pumpkins into the sea of color.  All this just minutes from Downtown Grand Rapids.  READ MORE

Westgate neighborhood hosts "Haunted Westgate"

COMSTOCK PARK (WZZM) -- The Westgate Neighborhood is home to some of the most elaborate Halloween displays in West Michigan.

Homeowners have attracted hundreds of visitors with decorations on their homes and in their yards.

Good Weather Keeps Sports Complex Busy

The fall season will soon come to an end, and the soccer season is over, but if did not deter a number of young soccer players from invading our Sports Complex today. Teams participated in a loosely organized tournament and took advantage of the beautiful weather.  READ MORE

Crowds watch the big game at local establishments

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WZZM)- Local establishments in West Michigan hosted watch parties Saturday afternoon and owners were happy with the turnout.

Michael Biddick, General Manager at Vitales Sports and Lounge in Comstock Park said, "Michigan, Michigan State going into the game undefeated. It's like a mini-national holiday for the state of Michigan so it brings a lot of people in. "

All all eyes were on the flat screens inside the restaurant.

Fans of all ages dressed up to show which team they were rooting for.

There were decorations and plenty of specials available to keep customers happy.

Patrice Lankfore, a Spartan Fan said there's good reason why she's watching the game here, " Great Food, great service, great place to be. Cheering for the Spartans."

U of M fan Robbie Mills said, "(This is the) only place I know with blue beer! Great pizza and Mom can't stand the yelling."
