COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WZZM)- The Food Network was at Fifth Third Ballpark Friday night to film the Fifth Third Burger for an episode of "Unwrapped."

The monster burger will be served during the Muskegon - Rockford High School football game.

Picnic at Alpine Township Center

The picnic table located on the grass behind Township hall gets plenty of use by the public.  Seen  today was the Lycklama family from Grandville.  Bryan Lycklama works nearby and his wife drove in with their sons to enjoy a family picnic.  From the smiles on everyone's face, it's plain to see that it was a very happy event.

Major water works

From: http://www.alpinetwp.org

In 2008, the Plainfield Water Department presented Alpine Township with its Water Capital Improvement Plan which included the replacement of water mains in the Westgate Village area. Per agreement, Alpine Township was to pay 50% of the installation of new water mains on Lantern, Brandywine, Westgate, and parts of Stony Creek and Westshire. This work was scheduled to be done in segments beginning in 2009 and to be completed in 2013 providing funds were available. Why was it held up?

In 2009, "stimulus funds for shovel-ready projects" became household words, especially in municipal circles. As a result, this "shovel-ready" project was delayed and an application was made through the Michigan Revolving Loan Fund that, if approved, would qualify $8.25 million in water projects in Plainfield and Alpine Townships for a low interest loan.

Stoney Creek ‘Swims’ into ArtPrize!

From: http://www.cppschools.com

Stoney Creek’s ceramic mural, “Swim, Swam, Swum,” will be on display at Immanuel Lutheran Church in downtown Grand Rapids during the ArtPrize competition. Each Stoney Creek student had the opportunity to create a “thumbprint” fish tile. Their tiles, along with teacher Holly Uecker-Herman’s own ceramic work, will be created into a “creek” mural. After ArtPrize, the mural will become the property of Stoney Creek. Be sure to stop by the church and vote for Stoney Creek!
