Whitecaps offering virtual ballpark tours

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WZZM) -- The West Michigan Whitecaps are now offering virtual tours of Fifth Third Ballpark.

The team is working with Fox Virtual Tours and Google to allow fans to get a digital look inside the ballpark. A Google photographer spent several days taking pictures of the ballpark's exterior and interior to create the virtual tour.

The virtual tour lets users see 360-degree panoramas of the entire ballpark, including the view from the playing field.

Become a Bone Marrow Donor; Save a Life

Become a Bone Marrow Donor; Save a Life

While volunteering this past weekend with WZZM13 and our “Make a Difference Day” event on the GVSU campus in Allendale, I was surprised to realize how little I really knew about bone marrow transplants. I’m sure a lot of you feel the same.

The main thing I learned was that 75% of the time, if you needed a bone marrow transplant, your immediate family would not qualify, meaning they would not be a match. That is when you turn to a place such as Michigan Blood. They are also connected to the National Registry.

Bars, restaurants prep for Michigan/Michigan St. game

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WZZM) -- Like a sliced-up pizza, the state of Michigan is divided.

At Vitale's in Comstock Park Friday night, strangers could be seen disagreeing -- and sometimes, so were family members. Jim Bass is a Michigan fan, and his wife is rooting for Michigan State.

"State's going to walk all over Michigan tomorrow," she said.

"They're winning, undoubtedly -- they are 5 and 0 -- but they're not beating up on anyone," he responded.

The root of the conflict? "They don't have to beat up on anyone -- a win is a win! How many wins does Michigan have?"

WZZM 13 also found a waitress and a customer having a spirited debate.

"No Michigan fans!" the customer said to the waitress.

"Go blue!" she responded.
