Kandiland Kennel | Pet Daycare & Boarding

Kandiland Kennel was established in 1989 when I first purchased my first purebred Golden Retriever. Following suit with other house pet names, “Snickers” the mix breed and “Milky Way” the cat, I decided to name her “Bit O’ Honey” and in honor of the known sweet temperament of Goldens.  This is how the kennel name "Kandiland" came about.
Being a “newbie” in the Show world at the time, I learned there were “dues” to pay and not all ended with “Blue Ribbons”. Determined to learn about the Breed Standard, disorders, heartbreaks and joys, I realized the truth in the saying, “You need to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince (or princess).”
In 1994, “Kandiland’s Certified Liter” (Certs) was born and Kandiland was on its way.
Although I had several Champions before her, Certs became the ultimate! Certs became Kandiland’s first official homebred Champion, producing many, many Champions, a beginning for several new breeders, and bringing happiness to countless families looking for that sweet family pet.
Before long, the Boarding Kennel was built to care for our Goldens and other breeds while their families were vacationing. Word of mouth spread quickly to establish Kandiland Kennel as an upscale trusting Boarding Kennel. With our love of all dogs, every breed is welcomed.
We have always kept a low profile, but also have always bred to keep a High Standard with our Goldens. Whether it be that new Show Puppy, Obedience, Hunting Dog, or lovable family pet, you can be assured that the tail will always be wagging.
The goal of Kandiland has always been to produce the most sound temperament, with a gentle disposition, and a healthy life of longevity.
