Upcoming Events in Alpine Township

On September 11 and 12, 2010, Holy Trinity Parish, 1200 Alpine Church Road NW, will celebrate it's 35th annual ALPINE FESTIVAL. There will be Food, Refreshments, Entertainment, Live Music, Beer, Las Vegas Party, Sunday Bingo, and much more. Sunday is geared towards families with Kids Games, Bingo, 50/50 raffle, large inflatables, a Country Store and a Kiddie Tractor Pull. Of course there is also the famous Sunday BBQ chicken, mini raffles, and a Raffle with first prize of $8,000. This is a great event for the entire community. Here are some pictures from last year's event. Call the parish office at 784-0677 for festival details!

On Sunday,  September 12, 2010, the Kent Distict Library will be reaching out to our Hispanic community at the Alpine Township Sports Complex.  Katie the Elephant, Mascott of the District Library. El Pollo Loco, a crazed chicken of no known origins (other than an egg), and Purdy the Clown will all be on hand in an effort to introduce the migrant youth to the KDL.  There will be games, and a life Mariachi will be performing.  So sneak away from the festival for a few moments and join the fun at the Sports complex, just up the road at Alpine Church Road and Baumhoff.

On Saturday, September 16th it starts at Putt-Putt Bar at 10:30 and ends at the Bow Tie Bar at 10 Mile and Alpine Rd.  It's the 8th annual Precious Memorial Run, with proceeds to benefit Senior Meals on Wheels. For answer to questions, please contact Sue at 616-644-3996 or Senior Meals at 616-459-3111.

Every year, the Alpine Township Historical Society picks a former one-room school house in Alpine Township to hold a reunion at the Historical Museum at 2410 Seven Mile Road. They try to locate all former students and encourage them to share photos of their school days. All are welcome and refreshments are served. Group photos are taken. If you are a former student, please contact the Historical Society at 784-1262 as soon as possible for information.

On Saturday, September 25th, the Bow Tie is sponsoring an Antique Tractor Show. A parade starts in Sparta at 1:00 PM and ends at the Bow Tie, with festivities there beginning at 2:00 PM.  For more information, call 616-550-1777  Proceeds go to Gilda's Club.

If there are any ALPINE TOWNSHIP  community activities or fundraisers you would like to feature here, please contact Alpine Township.
