GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– A homeowner in Eastown is getting $10,000 to renovate her place.
Cami Estep won the giveaway contest by the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids and Option 1 Credit Union. The two groups launched the contest in February, during the Grand Rapids Remodeling and New Home Show.
“Our home is more than 100 years old, so the possibilities for projects are endless,” said Estep. “We were already planning on redoing an upstairs bathroom, but our furnace has been making some interesting noises lately, so we may choose to replace our aging heating and cooling system instead!”
Although she may not know exactly how to invest the money yet, one thing is for certain-- Estep and her family are very grateful for the HBA of Greater Grand Rapids.
“Thank you to Option 1 and the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids for this opportunity,” said Estep. “It was a great surprise and really takes the pain out of whatever project we may choose.”
In celebration of its 70th anniversary, the HBA of Greater Grand Rapids and Option 1 Credit Union launched the $10,000 giveaway at the Grand Rapids Remodeling & New Home Show. The contest chose one lucky winner to receive $10,000 to renovate their home. Contestants were invited to share their “ugly room” photos via social media using #myGRhome on Instagram and Twitter, or by posting photos on the HBA for Greater Grand Rapids’ Facebook page. The giveaway ran from Jan. 9 through Jan. 30 and only one entrant was randomly selected as the winner of the $10,000 makeover.
