COMSTOCK PARK, Mich.—School is out, but the learning is far from over at the York Creek Community Center.

York Creek Apartments kicked off its York Kids and York Teens summer mentoring program at the center this week.  The initiative offers free programming for children in the Comstock Park area.  Kids learn about a variety of topics, including health, nutrition, gardening and other life skills.  The program runs 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday  and is led by a variety of groups, including Wedgewood Christian Services, Comstock Park Public Schools and Kent District Library.

This is the seventh year for the mentorship program, but the first time its taken place inside the 5,600 square foot community center, located at 3999 Alpenhorn Drive. The program will run through Aug. 14.   For more information, contact Meaghan Aupperlee of Wedgewood Christian Services at maupperlee@wedgewood.org or (616) 831-5668.
