Thank You Erin Randall

The staff at Alpine Township said goodbye  on Friday to Deputy Clerk Erin Randall who is leaving  her job for a full time position with the Ionia County Friend of the Court.  Erin has been the Township's Deputy Clerk for the past 18 months.  She will be greatly missed by the entire staff  and in particular by the Township Clerk.  Erin was honored with a small luncheon provided by her fellow employees and a gift certificate to one of her favorite stores.  Erin's commute to work will be much shortened,  There is also a wedding planned for later this year.  The Board of Trustees and staff at Alpine Township wish Erin a haooy future and thank her for the teriffic job she did for the Township during her tenure.

Computers for Kenya

One of the projects the Comstock Park Rotary Club has supported for the past few years is  the"Island Tech Center in Mbita Kenya.  The center will serve to bring computer technology to villages and over 300,000 people in rural Western Kenya. Today, Dan Orao, a native of Kenya, and Mark Cebula visited the Comstock Park club to talk about recent efforts.  A 4;600 square foot facility was recently completed thanks to earlier generous supporters.  Another $20,000 is needed to equip the center with computers, printers, ceiling fans and office furniture...


CPPS - Bouwkamp Named to State Honors Band

Nicole Bouwkamp, 8th grade percussionist, auditioned for and was chosen for the MSBOA All-State Middle School Honors Band.

This prestigious band consisted of other highcaliber middle school band students from across the state. The All-State Honors Band performed January 22 at the Michigan Music Conference at DeVos Place and Amway Grand Plaza Hotel after two days of rehearsals.

Now Open - Habitat for Humanity - ReStore

A special ceremony took place this morning at the location of the ReNew store brought to our community by Habitat for Humanity of Kent County.  Instead of a typical ribbon cutting ceremony, the staff and directors conducted a dedication ceremony with invited guests, customers, and many volunteers.  The store was dedicated in a christian tradition to the glory of God.  Present at the ceremony were Mary Buikema, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, Tom Hyde, Director of ReStore, and a special message was delivered by Pastor Ken Benson, who brought ReStore to Michigan after seeing successful stores in other states.  The new store is located at 5920 Alpine Ave. NW, adjacent to the Meijer Gas Station at Alpine Ave. and 7 Mile Rd. NW. The store will be managed by Elvira Torres...


CPPS - New Scoreboards a Salute to Many

Two new, high-tech scoreboards began to track the progress of games at the  high school gym a few weeks ago.

The scoreboards were dedicated before a girls' basketball game with Forest Hills Northern High School.

The current Comstock Park High School was opened in 1991.
