ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two adults and a child were hurt in a crash Friday afternoon in Kent County's Alpine Township.

Deputies were dispatched around 5 p.m. to Fruit Ridge Ave. and 6 Mile Rd. NW on a report of a two-car crash.

They found a 61-year-old Kentwood man had been westbound on 6 Mile and ran the stop sign at Fruit Ridge. His vehicle collided with a minivan driven by a 40-year-old Grandville man who had two passengers, a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old boy.

Both drivers had non-life-threatening injuries. The Kentwood man was hospitalized at Mercy Health Saint Mary's, while the Grandville man was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth. The 4-year-old was hospitalized with serious injuries. The 7-year-old was not hurt.

Deputies said alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and the crash is still under investigation.
